My combi boiler recently stopped working and flashed up an error code that meant that it needed to be re-pressurised. Having looked in the manual I thought that I need to buy a filling loop in order to do this. Having rung a couple of other plumbers merchants who didn’t have any in stock I contacted Heat Spares & Plumbing Supplies who did have them. When I got there I showed the man I spoke to, possibly the owner, the photos of the pipework I had taken and he said I had been looking in the wrong place and the boiler probably already had a filling loop. He was very knowledgeable and, even though I didn’t now need to buy anything from him, went out of his way to explain where I should look to find it. Not only did he give me diagrams of both types of filling loop that my boiler could have, he actually got the back of a boiler case, put the relevant pipes in place and fitted the filling loop to them so that I would know exactly what I was looking for. The advice he gave me meant that I was able to fix the boiler myself and didn’t waste around £25 on a part I didn’t need. Needless to say if I need any other plumbing parts or have to call someone out I will contact Heat Spares & Plumbing Supplies.
